Cote Charity

How to find us

The Cote Charity was established in the late 1960s by Miss Katherine Gotch Robinson.

She bought Cote House in 1954 and turned it into flatlets for older residents rather than see her family's elegant 17th century home and grounds fall into the hands of commercial developers. Bristol Old Peoples` Welfare Incorporated gave support to the project.

In 1968 the Cote Charity was established with The Society of Merchant Venturers as Trustees. Subsequently accommodation at Cote House has been upgraded and the elderly care facilities at New Cote built.

Both Cote House and New Cote are also supported by the Grateful Society which was founded in 1758 in memory of Edward Colston and his charitable works.
